Syngenta Biotechnology among the Top 100 Fast Company
On December 10, Syngenta Biotechnology China (SBC) is pleased to announce that the company has been selected as one of the “Top 100 Fast Company” by Business Watch, a leading Chinese financial & business magazine, in recognition of its commitment and achievement as the first foreign-invested agricultural biotech research center in China.
Business Watch’s annual editor-selected Fast 100 list highlights innovators and industrial pioneers who are reshaping the business and technology boundaries, making positive economic, social and environmental impacts on the Chinese market. This year with a special focus on innovation, reaction to market and sustainability, the 2008 Fast Company Award showcases local and international companies who have shown leadership and commitments despite the market swings and harsh investment climate. SBC was chosen as one of the most innovative and fast-growing “Tomorrow’s Stars”.
In November nominees were rated, commented and voted online by a variety of audience. A grand award ceremony was held last week with participations of over 200 government officials, industrial experts, scholars, journalist, NGO representatives and executives from the winning companies. Among the awardees are Google, IBM, HSBC, Samsungs, and Wal-Mart, as well as some famous local brands such as Huawei, China Mobile and Lenovo. Syngenta’s major competitors DuPont Pioneer and Dows are also listed.
"We are honored to have been selected as one of this year's Fast 100," said Dr. Xun Wang, Head of SBC. "The economy isn’t at its best right now, but we hold fast to our strategy of continuously exploiting biotech opportunities to support business, sustain our technological edge and fortify Syngenta’s leadership. This honor is one we share with our employees. Our collective success is what makes Syngenta a great company."
